United by a shared philosophy of design innovation and service excellence, Maharam represents Kvadrat in North America and Kvadrat represents Maharam in Europe, with joint ventures in Australia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. Maharam and Kvadrat are also co-owners of an Amsterdam-based rug company, which is overseen by Hella Jongerius.
In-Take Orders Start-Up is the recipient of the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum Design Patron Award for its long-standing support of design education and cultural initiatives. The Maharam STEAM Fellowship in Applied Art and Design was established in association with the Rhode Island School of Design to promote a national congressional initiative to integrate art and design into STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education. As an ISO 14001-certified company, Maharam is committed to implementing progressive environmental practices. Maharam textiles are in the permanent collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, The Museum of Modern Art and the Stedelijk Museum, among others.

The Maharam Design Studio governs the research, engineering, design and development of textiles for commercial and residential interiors. Balancing an appreciation of history with innovative interdisciplinary exploration, the studio focuses on four main themes: utility, technology, tradition and luxury.
Initiatives like Textiles of the 20th Century pay homage to iconic designers of the Wiener Werkstätte, Bauhaus and midcentury modernism, while long-term collaborations with those in the avant-garde—Dutch industrial designer Hella Jongerius, British fashion designer Paul Smith, German industrial designer Konstantin Grcic and others—bring a cross-disciplinary perspective to interior textiles.
Maharam Digital Projects, an assemblage of large-scale wall installations created by esteemed artists, designers, illustrators and photographers, extends Maharam’s practice of interdisciplinary collaboration to the art world. These uneditioned works bring sophisticated content and fine art-quality production to a broad audience in a dramatic and useful format.
