The Manhattan home of photographer Patricia Amador and her family got a design makeover by the twin sister team of 2Michaels, resulting in a space that is lush without being excessive. The owners wanted something that wasn’t overly stiff or too contemporary-feeling. To achieve this, the designers employed an expertly-curated selection of art and artful furniture pieces to create the welcoming and comfortable living environment.
In this seating area, a long sofa in a pale neutral (with complimenting armless chair) provide ample perches from which to contemplate the couple’s art collection. Oak flooring and a barely-there carpet are inviting but don’t compete for attention. The large low table allows there to be plenty of books at hand.
