For a company that divines just the right artwork for corporate, health-care, hospitality, and residential projects, the interior needs to recede so the art itself to take center stage. Elks Manfredi Architects maintained a sense of expansiveness in the 6,800 square foot space with windows on Boston Harbor and 16-foot ceilings–while inserting myriad functional elements for a business. The space presents itself as a lab / working studio. Arrays of low-tech pendant fixtures accentuate the scale, while suspended drywall panels, counters, and vertical storage shatters the white-cube experience by bringing the back-of-house front and center.
In the lounge, a richly-textured gray rug and playful ottomans compliment angular chairs by Jorge Pensi Design Studio.
